Funded under the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL<\/a>) (Grant Agreement No 101168169)<\/em>, this 3.5-years EU project, aims to establish and deploy a pan-European federated infrastructure for Intensive Care Units\u2019 (ICU) data combined with governance mechanisms allowing secure cross-border access to ICU datasets. With a strong consortium and building on established networks, societies and federated infrastructures, ICUdata4EU will address the challenges that Intensive Care Units (ICUs) are facing, such as aging society, combined with a shortage of specialised staff, with the possibility to also address crisis situations, such as future pandemics or wars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is supported by EU Recovery and Resilience Facility<\/a> (RRF), and will contribute to the implementation of the objective of Digital Europe programme<\/a>, to ensure the deployment of sectorial common data spaces, based on the secure and energy-efficient federated cloud-to-edge infrastructure, that should be accessible to businesses and the public sector, and will support the objectives of Digital Europe programme with regards to deployment of Artificial Intelligence and the Best Use of Digital Capacity and Interoperability, as well as the promotion of Cybersecurity and Trust, and Advanced Digital Skills. ICUdata4EU will confirm and demonstrate the effectiveness of the dataspace infrastructure in terms of its security, interoperability with datasets and modelling tools, and potential for improvement in care provision, efficiency, and effectiveness, with a \u2018Data Space for ICU data\u2019 aiming to be fully interoperable with the European Health Data Space<\/a> (EHDS).<\/p>\n\n\n

The EFN will be part of WP3 <\/strong>(Needs Assessment and Requirements Gathering for the European ICU Data Space) and WP8 <\/strong>(Validation, Pilot Testing, and Dissemination), supporting the project with communication & dissemination of the project activities, and enhancing skills and workplace aspects, namely by validating the utility of the platform for simulation and analysis tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project consortium consists of 18 partners and 1 associated partner from Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, Greece, Romania, Portugal, and Latvia (2 Universities, 4 University Hospitals, 5 Non-University Hospitals, 2 non-governmental organizations, 1 research institute, 5 Technology transfer institutes\/SMEs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
