{"id":11874,"date":"2019-11-06T14:51:48","date_gmt":"2019-11-06T13:51:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.efnweb.be\/?p=11874"},"modified":"2019-11-06T14:51:48","modified_gmt":"2019-11-06T13:51:48","slug":"3rd-transnational-meeting-of-qualment-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/efn.eu\/?p=11874","title":{"rendered":"3rd Transnational Meeting of QualMent project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/qualment.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">QualMent<\/a>\u00a0project partners met in the premises of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ua.es\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alicante University<\/a>, in Spain, for their 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Transnational meeting to discuss the ongoing work and the latest developments of the project, ensuring that future steps are taken in a coordinated manner.\u00a0Addressing the clinical mentor\u2019s lack in nursing education and developing a clinical mentor\u2019s competence with mentor education for national and international nursing students, it is key that frontline mentors participate in the co-design of these mentorship courses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The latest project\u2019s developments are relating to the three-course modules:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Module I, which is an introduction to mentorship in nursing.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Module II, which deepens into cultural and linguistic diversity in mentoring of nursing students.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Module III, which reflects in the mentoring competency in assessment, and reflective discussion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In parallel to these three modules, project partners discussed the training materials to be used as a complement that allows clinical mentors and nursing students to deepen further into those.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the key training materials of Module I is the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.efnweb.be\/?page_id=6897\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EFN\u2019s Competency Framework<\/a>. This document relates to the Directive on Mutual Recognition of Professional Qualifications (<a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX:32005L0036\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2005\/36\/EC<\/a>, amended in the Directive <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/ALL\/?uri=CELEX:32013L0055\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2013\/55\/EU<\/a>), which includes a set of 8 competences establishing the minimum educational requirements for nurses responsible of general care (article 31, paragraph 7). These are legally binding for all EU Member States.
