{"id":13034,"date":"2020-12-03T10:02:15","date_gmt":"2020-12-03T09:02:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.efnweb.be\/?p=13034"},"modified":"2020-12-03T10:02:15","modified_gmt":"2020-12-03T09:02:15","slug":"efn-receives-the-european-womens-prize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/efn.eu\/?p=13034","title":{"rendered":"EFN receives the European Women\u2019s Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The European Federation of Nurses Associations (EFN) is proud to announce that the EU nurses have been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.efnweb.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/EFN-Press-Release-EFN-receives-the-European-Women%E2%80%99s-Prize-02-12-2020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">awarded<\/a> the prestigious <a href=\"https:\/\/europeanmovement.eu\/event\/women-of-europe-award-2020-edition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2020 Women of Europe Awards<\/a>, in the <em>\u2018Woman in Action\u2019<\/em> category.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The EFN, representing 3 million EU and 6 million European nurses, was nominated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/womenlobby.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Women\u2019s Lobby<\/a> for the nurses instrumental role and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/i\/status\/1334854092355727362\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exceptional commitment<\/a> to working on the frontline during the COVID-crisis, providing expert care 24\/7 at\u00a0 the bedside of patients, in the most difficult unprecedented circumstances, risking their own lives and that of their loved ones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Special mention is appropriate for all the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.efnweb.be\/?page_id=802\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EFN Members<\/a> &#8211; the National Nursing Associations in the EU and Europe &#8211; for their ongoing commitment to EFN and their relentless support within their countries\u00a0 incredible and professional frontline nurses whose expertise and knowledge is central to saving lives and\u00a0 comforting patients in extremely difficult working conditions, all the while maintaining essential support services to those who require healthcare.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cWe are genuinely overwhelmed and delighted for this exceptional recognition. It is just wonderful for the millions of frontline nurses across Europe that have relentlessly and selflessly provided life-saving care to the Citizens of Europe during the pandemic while risking their own health and that of their families. This is a great surprise, and our nurses are so honoured to receive this prestigious award.
