Perilous Medicine also offers a path forward, detailing the lessons the international community needs to learn to protect people already suffering in war and those on the front lines of health care in conflict-ridden places around the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are many contributions for our nurses and colleagues on the ground addressing the pervasive violence against hospitals, patients, nurses, doctors, and other health workers which has become a horrifically common feature of modern war. These relentless attacks destroy lives and the capacity of health systems to tend to those in need. Inaction to stop this violence undermines long-standing values and laws designed to ensure that sick and wounded people receive care.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A live-streamed conversation about the book with Professor Rubenstein and Steve Morrison, director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csis.org\/programs\/global-health-policy-center\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Global Health Policy Center<\/a> at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, will take place on Wednesday 15 September.
