{"id":14641,"date":"2022-03-04T13:51:16","date_gmt":"2022-03-04T11:51:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/efn.eu\/?p=14641"},"modified":"2022-03-04T13:51:22","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T11:51:22","slug":"insecurity-insight-violence-against-or-obstruction-of-health-care-in-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/efn.eu\/?p=14641","title":{"rendered":"Insecurity Insight \u2013 Violence Against or Obstruction of Health Care in Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/insecurityinsight.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Violence-Against-or-Obstruction-of-Health-Care-in-Ukraine-24-February-02-March-2022.pdf\">Insecurity Insight: Violence Against or Obstruction of Health Care in Ukraine<\/a><\/strong> a monitoring period from the day of the Russian invasion (February 24) through March 2. According to this report they have been identified \u201c<em>reports of 24 incidents where explosive weapons damaged hospitals. A doctor, ambulance driver and medical student have been reportedly killed in attacks. The armed violence has also hindered access to health care or forced health care providers to change how they were able to provide services. The conflict has also affected supply of drugs and other key medical supplies with crucial shortages for patients with long-term care needs\u201d<\/em><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The European Federation of Nurses Association (EFN) statement issued on 1 March stated: \u201c<em>that the principle of human rights must be upheld and protected. Casualties and patients in Ukraine must have full access to healthcare.
