{"id":15587,"date":"2023-02-03T20:36:14","date_gmt":"2023-02-03T18:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/efn.eu\/?p=15587"},"modified":"2023-02-06T10:53:17","modified_gmt":"2023-02-06T08:53:17","slug":"european-pillar-of-social-rights-whats-next","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/efn.eu\/?p=15587","title":{"rendered":"EUROPEAN PILLAR OF SOCIAL RIGHTS \u2013 WHAT\u2019S NEXT!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The EFN participated to \u201c<strong>The European Union and the Pillar of Social Rights<\/strong>\u201d Workshop &nbsp;which is part of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/about-european-commission\/departments-and-executive-agencies\/justice-and-consumers\/justice-and-consumers-funding-tenders\/funding-programmes\/citizens-equality-rights-and-values-programme_en\"><strong>Just EU and Me&nbsp;project<\/strong>,<\/a> funded by The European Union\u2019s Citizens, Equality, Rights, and Values (CERV) Programme (2021-2027).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project consists in a transnational capacity-building programme led by <a href=\"https:\/\/adozioneadistanza.actionaid.it\/actionaid\/2023_AR_GOM202F?gclid=CjwKCAiA_vKeBhAdEiwAFb_nrYHzJnooZqNWKRHUFc5u4ZW-FybCAocrTGlP7Sx1dSNpbvAvT8oVFBoCu-0QAvD_BwE\"><strong>ActionAid<\/strong><\/a> which aims at providing young people and representatives of youth associations with <strong>knowledge, skills, and opportunities<\/strong> to improve <strong>EU and Member States\u2019 policies<\/strong> implementing the <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/strategy-and-policy\/priorities-2019-2024\/economy-works-people\/jobs-growth-and-investment\/european-pillar-social-rights_en\"><strong>European Pillar of Social Rights<\/strong><\/a> and addressing social justice issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main focus of this workshop was the<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/strategy-and-policy\/priorities-2019-2024\/economy-works-people\/jobs-growth-and-investment\/european-pillar-social-rights\/european-pillar-social-rights-action-plan_en\"><strong>European Pillar of Social Rights Actions Plan<\/strong><\/a> which aims to put in place concrete actions for reaching the EU ambitious goals by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/marco-cilento-8743376\/?originalSubdomain=be\" target=\"_blank\"><br>Marco Cilento<\/a>\u00a0(ETUC) highlighted the importance to work with EU institutions for finding global solutions and elaborate on the <strong>20 Principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights<\/strong>. The main focus on the working-life balance above all for women, will be key. The focus on the nursing profession will be key as 92% of the nurses are women. Marco explained that the EU social scoreboard aims to improve the collaboration and coordination among members\u2019 states in favour of job supporting, working-life balance: <em>&#8220;It is key now to speed up the process and support member states which cannot go forward alone. We need to change the interpretation the pillars in order to understand how to proceed and update the list of priorities.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3 key priority<\/strong> <strong>areas<\/strong> identified:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>More and better jobs;<\/li><li>Skills and equality;<\/li><li>Social protection and inclusion<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These 3 key areas are essential for <strong>nurses and for the entire healthcare ecosystem.<\/strong> In a rapidly changing world, new skills and competences are needed, above all, in the healthcare sector in which nurses represent the majority of the workforce. Upskilling and reskilling nurses means create a more resilient healthcare system able of facing future crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Pillar of Social Rights represents a great opportunity in terms of funds for making the difference.
