{"id":17135,"date":"2024-02-05T18:28:23","date_gmt":"2024-02-05T16:28:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/efn.eu\/?p=17135"},"modified":"2024-02-05T18:28:28","modified_gmt":"2024-02-05T16:28:28","slug":"former-deputy-director-general-of-dg-sante-john-ryan-passed-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/efn.eu\/?p=17135","title":{"rendered":"Former Deputy Director General of DG SANTE, John Ryan, passed away"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">It is with great sadness that the EFN was informed that John Ryan, former Deputy Director General of DG SANTE, passed away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">John has been always very close to the nurses, liaising with the EFN on many occasions to co-design fit-for-purpose policies as during <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3e76mZn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">COVID-19<\/a>, or within the context of the Coalition for Vaccination and the Coalition to supporting Ukraine (of which the EFN is one of the co-chairs). He would always listen to the nurses\u2019 voice and concerns and was clear on the importance to protect frontline nurses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Over the years, we learned to know him as a very strong and accessible person, keen to support nurses and the nursing profession at EU level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">On behalf of all EFN members, it is rightly to say that this is a huge loss for all of us!
