\u201cEducation is one of the most important means of empowering women with the knowledge, skills and self-confidence necessary to participate fully in the development process.\u201d <\/em>

\u00a0<\/em>Much progress has been made to protect and promote women\u2019s rights. However, despite the commitments made by the European Union in terms of equality between women and men, a lot still needs to be done in many areas. One of them is education.<\/p>\n

Education is one of the most powerful means of facilitating the necessary changes in nursing and of equipping the profession to meet healthcare current and future needs. The Directive on Mutual Recognition of Professional Qualifications (DIR 2005\/36\/EC) enabled the positioning of women in society, with key leading and decision-making positions.<\/p>\n

In all European countries the needs in healthcare are changing, developing new demands, challenges and opportunities for the nurses. Clarifying and defining professional and occupational qualifications and advanced roles and responsibilities is key for nurses, women, when reengineering the healthcare systems in the EU.<\/p>\n

Investing in nurses\u2019 education, investing in health is the best investment society can make! Citizens will have a high return% on their investment!<\/p>\n
