{"id":4950,"date":"2014-01-20T16:24:52","date_gmt":"2014-01-20T15:24:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.efnweb.be\/?p=4950"},"modified":"2014-01-20T16:24:52","modified_gmt":"2014-01-20T15:24:52","slug":"the-efn-executive-committee-meets-in-brussels-for-its-first-meeting-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/efn.eu\/?p=4950","title":{"rendered":"The EFN Executive Committee meets in Brussels for its first meeting of the year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The EFN had on 16 January a successful Executive Committee meeting, with key policy-makers invited to exchange views on crucial topics for nurses and the nursing profession, namely Patient Empowerment and CPD with Nathalie Chaze and Caroline Hager from <a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/dgs\/health_consumer\/index_en.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DG Sanco<\/a> and standards in nursing care with Cinzia Missiroli, Unit Manager Sustainability &amp; Services from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cen.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Committee of European Standardisation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In terms of outcomes, the Executive Committee approved: the <a href=\"https:\/\/efn.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/EFN-Manifesto-for-EU-Elections-2014-Final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EFN Manifesto for the EU elections<\/a> to be used by all the EFN Members to lobby their national candidates to the European Parliament; the <a href=\"https:\/\/efn.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/EFN-Activity-Report-2013-Final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EFN Activity Report 2013<\/a>; and the <a href=\"https:\/\/efn.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/EFN-Policy-Statement-on-Investing-in-Health-FinalJan2014.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Policy Statement<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/efn.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/EFN-Position-Paper-on-Investing-in-Health.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Position Paper<\/a> on Investing in Health, which follows on from the <a href=\"ec.europa.eu\/europe2020\/pdf\/ags2013_en.pdf\u200e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2013 Annual Growth Survey<\/a> that recognises the contribution of health for a job-rich recovery and establishes the role of health as integral component to the <a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/europe2020\/europe-2020-in-a-nutshell\/index_en.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Europe 2020 strategy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Executive Committee discussed furthermore the EFN report on the 4 categories in nursing care and how the collected data can redesign of the Joint WHO-EUROSTAT-OECD questionnaire based on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ilo.org\/global\/publications\/ilo-bookstore\/order-online\/books\/WCMS_172572\/lang--en\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ILO ISCO-08 Code<\/a>. It is clear that we cannot plan and forecast if the data collected are biased. The EFN Executive Committee equally exchanged views on \u201cStandards in healthcare\u201d and how nurses can influence the design of these standards.
