{"id":9162,"date":"2017-12-01T12:51:38","date_gmt":"2017-12-01T11:51:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.efnweb.be\/?p=9162"},"modified":"2017-12-01T12:51:38","modified_gmt":"2017-12-01T11:51:38","slug":"patient-solidarity-day-patient-empowerment-in-people-centred-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/efn.eu\/?p=9162","title":{"rendered":"Patient Solidarity Day &#8211; \u201cPatient Empowerment in people-centred care\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The EFN is committed to support and advocate for strategies and policies placing \u201cpatient empowerment\u201d at the centre of people-centred care, seeing patients as persons who are more than their illness. <a href=\"https:\/\/efn.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/EFN-Position-Paper-Patient-Empowerment-Final-14-10-2013.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Patient empowerment<\/a> enables patients and professionals to work in partnership, and nurses play a crucial role in addressing unmet needs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Patient empowerment is an essential condition for promoting better quality of care, enhanced patient safety and a paramount concept for modernising healthcare systems in the EU.
