The Nursing Now Board chaired by Lord Nigel Crisp and Baroness Mary Watkins met on 21 and 22 June, hosted in Geneva by Dr Jim Campbell Director, Health Workforce, World Health Organization. The Duchess of Cambridge is the patron of the three-year Campaign 2018-2021.
Nursing Now a global campaign is a programme of the Burdett Trust for Nursing represented by Shirley Baines with the Campaign Board made up of nurses and non-nurses from 16 different countries Nursing Now Campaign is focused on improving health by raising the profile and status of nursing.
The key topics discussed at the Board meeting included Universal Health Coverage, Evidence and Research, Leadership, Policy and Professional Practice; Effective Practice and the Sustainable Development Goals. Each country is encouraged to have one national lead to drive country specific initiatives, already there are nursing groups active 40 countries. Regional groups are also encouraged to work together under the Nursing Now Campaign umbrella.
