The 9es rencontres nationales MAIA, that took place today in Paris, was a great chance to exchange views on important topic, including integrated care.
In particular, François Barrière, representative of the French EFN Member Association Nationale Française des Infirmiers et Infirmières Diplômés ou Etudiants (ANFIIDE), and the EFN Secretary General Paul De Raeve, presented the benefits of digitalisation on integrated care and nurses’ roles, before an audience of more than 400 frontline workers.
As demonstrated by the findings of the EU-funded thematic network ENS4Care, through eHealth it is possible to shift the focus towards person-centred care, enhance patient empowerment, and to ensure continuity of care across primary and secondary health and social care sectors. To this purpose, digitalisation such as blockchain technology should support nurses in continuity of care – essential care data needed and shared: what medication, what wound dressing, what mobility, which food, …. Supporting the actions to deliver safe and high quality of care. The nurses added value, 24h on 24h, 7 on 7 days, 365 days a year, implies a co-designed integrated care methodology supported by blockchain technology with nurses as end-users ensuring systematic deployment of Integrated and Continuity of care across primary and secondary health and social care sectors!
Focussing on empowering patients/citizens is essential with nurses coaching fit-for-purpose systems/tools, including prevention!
