Opening ceremony for nurses and midwives park and statue in Cyprus

The Cyprus Nurses and Midwives Association, member of EFN, and Yermasogia municipality held an opening ceremony on 4 November 2022 with the presence of the President of Cyprus’s Parliament health committee and other parliamentarians, for the opening of a small central park and the unveiling of a Statue, both dedicated to nurses and midwives at Yermasogia municipality (Limassol area).

The previous CYNMA President, Ms Tapakoudi, was also present, together with other guests from the city of Limassol, the municipality of Yermasogia and of the State Health Services Organisation, and CYNMA past & present board members and colleagues.

The Mayor, Mr Xydias, and CYNMA’s President, Mr Leontiou, unveiled the statue for nurses and midwives of Cyprus and of the World, which consists of the nursing oil lamp with 4 nurses/midwives holding the world, and showing the universal nature of nurses’ and midwives’ role!

This was an initiative from CYNMA Board with a warm acceptance from Yermasogia municipality that created the park. The whole event had a huge promotion from the media and was appreciated by health care professionals and citizens around the country.
