The EFN is a key partner in BEWELL, the Erasmus+ 4-year EU project on digital and green skills, which aims to build, support, develop and implement an EU strategy on upskilling and reskilling of the European healthcare workforce.
In order to advance the developments for supporting nurses and nursing profession, the EFN participated at the 2 – Day’s Bewell Design Meeting in Brussels on 30 and 31 January 2023 focused on the WP 5 – Design of core curricula and training programmes.
It includes 9 tasks and the activities will follow 2 directions:
- The development of new curricula and training courses for the re-skilling and upskilling of the healthcare professionals focusing on green skills, digital skills and pandemic-related issues.
- The development of new curricula and training courses for students, healthcare professionals (nurses, doctors, operators, managers) and companies that will connect the needs of the health system and the companies.
In these 2 challenging days, the EFN and the other partners worked on the development of delivering methodologies for curricula and education & training programmes on urgent needs of the healthcare sector.
They were involved in the definition of the key topics and the structure of the education and training programs for giving to nurses and to the other healthcare professionals the most useful and necessary digital and green skills in order to facilitate their everyday life.
Moreover, the partners opened the discussion on the green skills and on which ones are the most useful for the healthcare sector. In this context, the EFN underlined the key role of nurses in Planetary Health. As the closest healthcare professionals to patients, their role is key in making people aware about the risks of climate change for health.
Important steps ahead have been done in these 2 days’ meeting, looking forward to go on!
