Marian Harkin and Elizabeth Lynne, hosted the dinner in the European Parliament for the launch of the book Nurses’ Voice in the EU Policy Process. The book captures EFN’s transformation over its 40 years – and the particularly the last 20 years, with the development of a strong European voice for Nursing. Over the years, nurses build the EU by contributing to the EU policy process and using different lobby mechanisms to achieve successful outcomes. Bridging the gap between citizens and EU legislation plays a key role in which EFN members are a loop of advocacy and information, bringing the field to Brussels and EU policies to national and regional contexts. EFN’s alliances are in building success central as the ‘European Citizens’ Voice’, the ‘Civil Society’s Voice’, the ‘Patients’ Voice’ and the ‘Women’s Voice’ facilitates redesigning healthcare system to tackle the well know societal challenges.
