On 6 November, the Polish Nurses Association held a seminar on the implementation of Directive 32/2010/EC on sharp injuries. Dorota Kilanska from the Polish Nurses Association, Milka Vasileva from the Bulgarian Association of Health Professionals in Nursing, Jindra Kracíková from the Czech Nurses Association, and Maria Levyova from the Slovak Chamber of Nurses and Midwives were among those who spoke about the issues at stake and the state of play in their respective countries. The report to the European Commission and the implications of different regulations, such as the one on safety devices, was discussed. The EFN calls on the EU to pro-actively support Member States in the implementation of Directive 32/2010/EC and highly welcomes the organisation of this seminar, which shows the strong leadership of Central Eastern European countries on this issue!
